YouTuber Logan Paul looks distraught

Disgraced YouTuber Logan Paul looked distraught as he was spotted for the first time since announcing he was taking a break from vlogging after his Suicide Forest debacle.

The 22-year-old millionaire donned a grey sweatshirt, grey shorts and matching sneakers as he went for a run near his home in LA, just days after posting a tasteless video of himself laughing and joking in front of a hanging suicide vicitm in Japan.

His video sparked a furious backlash from celebrities, fans and the press, leading the YouTube megastar to post not one, but two apologies, and announce Wednesday, he was taking time off ‘to reflect.’

Since then, the grinning prankster, who typically posts on social media multiple times a day and shares several videos a week, has not been seen or heard of until today.

When he finally ventured out on Friday, the star looked visibly upset.

The YouTuber has who typically posts on social media multiple times a day and shares several videos a week, has not been seen or heard since announcing he was taking a break from social media and vlogging in the wake of the Suicide Forest debacke

It’s been an unfortunate week for the Paul family as Logan’s younger brother Jake, 20, was captured on newly released footage video repeatedly dropping the n-word during a freestyle rap.

Jake was heard rapping about ‘little a** n***as’, saying later that: ‘I whip it like my n***a Richie Vetter, he make the p***y so wet it gets wetter.’

A source toldBuzzfeed that Jake wasn’t racist and had matured a lot since the footage was filmed just nine months ago during Coachella festival at a location in Palm Springs.

Meanwhile, Logan is still dealing with the fallout from his insensitive video, posted on Sunday, which showed him and his friends finding a man hanging from a branch in Japan’s Suicide Forest at the base of Mount Fuji.

The move comes after Paul faced a furious backlash over the sickening footage of him laughing and joking in front of the hanging corpse of a Japanese suicide victim (pictured is a still from the video)

‘Did we just find a dead person in the suicide forest hanging?’, Logan asked a man, who appeared to be guiding them through the forest, at the start of the 15-minute shocking video.

The video, titled ‘We found a dead body’, then cut to the man’s body dangling from a tree as Logan zoomed in with his camera. DailyMail.com has decided not to include this part of the video.

‘Yo, are you alive? Are you f**king with us?’ Logan is heard yelling at the motionless man.

‘A lot of things going through my mind. This is a first for me,’ Logan said, before asking someone to call the police.

Logan then films closer to the man’s body, noting that his ‘hands are purple’ and speculating that the man probably killed himself that same day.

He then apologized to his fans, saying: ‘I’m so sorry about this. This was supposed to be a fun vlog.’

Logan went on to say that ‘suicide is not a joke. Depression and mental illnesses are not a joke’.

The YouTube star, who is worth a reported $14 million, claimed that he and his crew visited the forest with an intent to focus on the ‘haunted aspect’ of the forest.

Toward the end of the clip, one of Logan’s friends is heard saying, ‘I don’t feel good.’

Logan then replied: ‘What you’ve never stood next to a dead guy?’ He then started laughing before saying that the whole vlog was supposed to be a joke.

He later appears to realize how his reactions could be perceived, saying: ‘Me smiling and laughing is not a portrayal of how I feel about the circumstances. Everyone deals with s**t differently.’

And Logan’s sick video received so much backlash online that he eventually deleted the post.

He has since posted a groveling apology video, admitting he ‘made a huge mistake’ and was ‘ashamed’ of himself. The YouTube star goes on to say that the grisly discovery ‘was obviously unplanned’ and the reactions ‘were raw, they were unfiltered.’

‘None of us knew how to react, or how to feel,’ he said, before admitting: ‘I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through.’

It was the second apology in as many days, after his first statement on Twitter was criticized for its self congratulatory tone after Paul referred to ‘how big of a reach’ he had and how he ‘gets views’.

The Associated Press initially reported that Japanese police were interested in talking to Paul as the case involved suicide. However, Masaki Ito, spokesman for the Yamanashi prefectural police, said people aren’t obligated to report a body.

Paul’s team did in fact call the police and his original video emergency officials appearing at the scene.

Local police declined comment to reporters on Wednesday, and Japanese police, as a rule, do not generally comment on suicides.

Breaking Bad star, Aaron Paul, called Logan ‘pure trash’ before telling him to ‘go rot in hell’.

He was followed by Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner, who called Logan an ‘idiot’ who doesn’t ‘deserve the success’ he has.

Ariana Grande‏ added: ‘Logan Paul and his friends laughing and smiling after discovering a dead body from a suicide. Disgusting.’

YouTuber Corinna Kopf also lashed out at Logan for his ‘insensitive’ video. ‘I lost my brother to suicide,’ Kopf tweeted.

Incredibly, after a dip in subscribers on Tuesday, the scandal has actually increased the number of Paul’s followers. The YouTuber gains around 40,000 new subscribers everyday.

On Tuesday, this dropped to just 16,000 but by the following day, it had rocketed up to more than 80,000.  At around midday on Thursday, the subscriber count was already approaching 30,000, and climbing.

LOGAN’S GROVELING APOLOGY VIDEO IN FULL

I made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement, and I don’t expect to be forgiven, I’m simply here to apologize.

So what we came across that day in the woods was obviously unplanned and the reactions you saw on tape were raw, they were unfiltered. None of us knew how to react, or how to feel.

I should have never posted the video. I should have put the cameras down and stopped recording what we were going through.

There’s a lot of things I should have done differently and I didn’t. For that, from the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry.

I want to apologize to the internet. I want to apologize to anyone who saw the video. I want to apologize to anyone who has been touched or affected by mental illness or depression or suicide.

But most importantly, I want to apologize to the victim and his family.

For my fans who are defending actions please don’t, they do not deserve to be defended.

The goal of my content is always to entertain, to push the boundaries, to be all inclusive.

In the world I live in, I share almost everything I do. The intent is never to be heartless, cruel or malicious.

Like I said I made a huge a mistake. I don’t expect to be forgiven, I’m just here to apologize.

I’m ashamed of myself. I’m disappointed in myself.

I promise to be better. I will be better. Thank you.

YouTube has also issued an apology via YouTube star Philip DeFranco, who is the video-sharing site’s go to to deliver news.

‘Our hearts go out to the family of the person featured in the video,’ the statement read.

‘YouTube prohibits violent or gory content posted in a shocking, sensational or disrespectful manner. If a video is graphic, it can only remain on the site when supported by appropriate educational or documentary information and in some cases it will be age-gated.

‘We partner with safety groups such as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to provide educational resources that are incorporated in our YouTube Safety Center.’

A clothing company, which shares the same name as Logan’s Maverick brand, are now piling on in the wake of the scandal. Maverick Apparel are threatening to sue Logan for $4 million, demanding he stop using the name as the trademarks are ‘confusingly similar’ and ‘consumers have been confused, deceived and misled.

Their lawyer say in a letter to Logan, that the brand hijacked the Maverick name and damaged the brand because he is a ‘vlogger catering to his evident lowest common denominator narcissism and who champions his scrotal injuries as a badge of pride in his quest of making an historical record of inanity.’

Logan, 22, racks up over 20 million views on some of his daily vlogs.

The Ohio native now lives in Los Angeles after he dropped out of Ohio University to pursue a career in social media entertainment.

He rose to fame on Vine, the now-defunct app that allowed him to share six-second videos of comedy.

In 2017, Paul dropped an impressive $6.6 million on a 8,700-square-foot home in Encino, California. The home, which was previously owned by actor Ryan Stiles, features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

His new home, which is in the Rancho Estates neighborhood, has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms on an acre block.

After all of the backlash, Logan later apologized for his actions, saying that he’s ‘sorry’ and he’s never ‘faced criticism like this before, because I’ve never made a mistake like this before’.

‘I’m surrounded by good people and believe I make good decisions, but I’m still a human being. I can be wrong,’ Logan said in his statement.

Logan claimed in his apology that he ‘didn’t do it for views’ because he already gets views.

‘I did it because I thought I could make a positive ripple on the internet, not cause a monsoon of negativity… I intended to raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention and while I thought ‘if this video saves just ONE life, it’ll be worth it,’ I was misguided by shock and awe, as portrayed in the video.’

The apology continued with: ‘I do this sh*t every day. I’ve made a 15 minute TV show EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 460+ days. One may understand that it’s easy to get caught up in the moment without fully weighing the possible ramifications.’

Many people reacted to his apology by saying they didn’t understand how someone could ‘get caught up in the moment’ while filming a man who had just committed suicide.

But it doesn’t look like it’s over for the YouTuber.

Eric Schiffer, Chairman of Reputation Management Consultants, believes Logan has done the right thing by stepping back, ‘after his clickbait marauding in front of a hanging suicide victim in Japan.

‘Logan Paul’s laughing at a dead body was stone cold crazy because it created a lasting hail of fire to his brand. But his emotional immaturity during his filming and upload, and contrition after is precisely why his brand can and will survive.

‘Because in his case it seems far more likely that the model of all publicity is good publicity serves Paul despite parents and ‘the internet’ being out for his celebrity scalp yet countered by the adoring digital defense of Paul’s fans (many are too young to understand how serious suicide it). But to maximize the ‘all publicity is good publicity’ model, Paul should invest his time and money with suicide prevention organizations and young people with mental health issues. Show, don’t upload.’

LAUGHING AND JOKING: VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Logan: Hey, um, I really hate to say this I think someone hanging right there.  I’m not even f**king kidding.

Do you see it? This isn’t a f**king joke guys.That’s a f**king person.

Friend: I think you’re f**king right.

Friend 2: Dude, what the heck? What the heck?

Logan: I’ve never seen a dead person.

Friend : You haven’t?

Logan: No bro.

Friend: What the f**k? Oh my god, he’s hanging.

Logan: Bro, did we just a find a dead person hanging in the suicide forest? Do you think that’s real?

Guide: Well, it could be. Because one of my classmates in junior high, he really killed himself when he was only 21.

Logan: His hands are purple, he did this this, this morning.

Friend: Oh no, I’m so sorry about this Logan, this was supposed to be a fun blog.

Logan: What the fuck is going on? Grrr. Why, it’s sinking in bro. This wasn’t supposed to happen man.

It just doesn’t make sense. His bag is right there, he’s got stuff in his pants. Why am I still here? What the fuck are we doing?

I’ve never seen a dead person. I’ve never discovered a dead person. What the f**k?

Friend: What are the chances we choose this part of the path?

Logan: It’s fate.

Friend: It’s not like we can see it (from the main path). It’s right there (he gestures).

Logan (in dramatic voice): It’s how our lives unfold, there’s no going back, I’ve seen things I cant unsee.

Friend: We’ve found a dead body.

Logan: Yep (laughs). What the f**k?

(Addressing people in the car lot) Logan: You guys got a dead guy in the forest, four knots south east.

Friend: Four knots? That’s speed.

Logan: Well you can just tell, he’s been here before.

I’ve got to say, this is the top five craziest thing I’ve ever seen in my life

Friend: Top five?

Logan: Top one, this is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m ain’t going to be sober for this s**t. I’m gonna drink this Japanese sake.

Me smiling and laughing is not a portrayal of how I feel about the circumstances. Everyone deals with s**t differently.

If you guys haven’t noticed,I cope with things by humor. While this is incredibly sad, I’ve said it a thousands times this is crazy.

(Addressing a mom and young child in the parking lot) Logan: One piece of advice, listen closely, don’t go over there.

His brother Jake Paul, 20, has also courted controversy after he was accused of making his former neighbors’ lives ‘hell.’
