Video footage shows the sickening moment a motorist mows down kangaroos in a 4X4.
The footage was discovered online by a self-described ‘wild-life warrior’ who said that it had been a long time since she had seen anything so ‘sickening’.
Police confirmed to news.com.au that they were investigating the kangaroo videos to determine whether or not it was a case of animal cruelty.
In the state of Queensland, anyone who is caught deliberately hurting native wildlife can be fined $220,000 and imprisoned for three years.
RSPCA Queensland spokesman Michael Beatty said that offenders can also be prosecuted by the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection and liable for fines under the Fauna Conservation Act.
He confirmed that the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry had received Douglas’ videos for processing.
Mr Beatty also added that he was concerned about the link between ‘acts of deliberate, premeditated cruelty towards animals and subsequent violence to humans’.

The driver uploaded the video to the Facebook page of Natalie Cepeniuk, where they ‘laughed and joked about it’ together before it was removed from Facebook.
Cepeniuk also found herself under similar scrutiny after she posted a picture of herself ‘deep-throating’ a decapitated joey.
The videos have been taken off Facebook but are still visible on YouTube.
