Sony announce 3 new smartphones ahead of CES 2018

Sony has revealed three new smartphones built with taking selfies in mind, ahead of the opening of the annual CES 2018 tech convention in Las Vegas.

The Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2 will join the Japanese tech firm’s roster of mid-range handsets.

They will also include finger-print sensors on the rear and 4K video support, including a slow motion mode.

Engineered specifically for selfies, the Xperia XA2 Ultra features a dual front camera setup with 16MP optical image stabilisation and 8MP super wide-angle lenses, both with front flash.

The company says this will produce clear shots regardless of lighting or environment and will help fit more friends and surroundings into your selfies.

It also has a large six inch Full HD display so you can view your shots in greater detail.

Xperia XA2’s powerful 23MP rear camera packs Sony’s large 1/2.3 inch Exmor image sensor, with ISO 12800 sensitivity for clear low-light photography.

It features 4K movie recording, allowing you to create with colour and clarity – 120fps slow motion video capture is also included for dramatising action and movement.

It also has a 120° super wide-angle 8MP camera up front for taking selfies.

Its 5.2 inch Full HD display is brighter, sharper and more colourful.

It also sits within a borderless design, taking the screen right to the edge and it’s built to last with strong and durable Corning Gorilla Glass.

Unlocking is made easy with the one-touch rear fingerprint sensor – integrated into the smooth metallic back panel. 

Xperia XA2 is composed of anodized aluminium on the sides, with a diamond-cut finish on the top and bottom, accentuating the industrial beauty of metal.

Xperia XA2 will be available in Single SIM and Dual SIM and in four colours – silver, black, blue and pink.

Xperia L2’s 5.5 inch 720p HD screen is great for enjoying video, browsing and social networking on the go.

It features a 3,300 mAh battery, smart charging and a Mediatek MT6737T processor.

It shares the XA2’s 120° super wide-angle 8MP front camera and a 13MP F2.0 rear camera, ensuring clear and crisp mobile photography.

The L2 will be available in three colours – black, gold and pink.
