Ivanka Trump joins chorus of approval for Oprah’s speech

Ivanka Trump broke her silence Monday evening to endorse Oprah Winfrey’s renowned Golden Globes  acceptance speech.

The longtime media proprietor Winfrey, 63, stole the show Sunday night as she stepped out in a slick black gown and spoke on behalf of women everywhere for the Time’s Up movement.

Winfrey, who received the Cecil B. DeMille Award, said in part: ‘It is not lost on me that, at this moment, there is some little girl watching as I become the first black woman to be given the same award… It is an honor and it is a privilege to share the evening with all of them.’

She went on: ‘I want all the girls watching here to know that a new day is on the horizon. When that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say ‘Me too’ again.’

Trump, 36, took to Twitter to praise the important message, writing: ‘Just saw @Oprah’s empowering & inspiring speech at last night’s #GoldenGlobes. Let’s all come together, women & men, & say #TIMESUP! #United’

Meanwhile, an army of celebrities and admirers also shared their appreciation for Winfrey – who has been an open book when it comes to her story of being a victim of childhood sexual assault.

The First Daughter instantly received backlash from Twitter users after she posted the questionable message.
