During the event, Sony also teased a look at its newest projector from the Life Space UX lineup – the LSP-A1 4K Ultra Short Throw Projector.
It was given little mention during the press conference – but, it is set to steal the show.
‘If you want to bring the exceptional audio and visual entertainment to your home but minimize the presence of gadgets in your personal living space, we have a new Life Space projector with built in speakers,’ Hirai said.
‘I strongly believe that there is still room for even more innovation in consumer electronics.’
It’s designed to blend seamlessly into the living room or other space, and has built-in imaging technology to allow for 4K HDR projections as large as 120 inches.
The projector is meant to be placed less than 10 inches from the wall, and can hit a top brightness of 2,500 lumens.
It’s capable of producing 360 degrees of atmospheric sound, using a six-speaker audio system consisting of organic glass ‘tweeters.’
But, it’ll set you back $30,000, according to The Verge.

‘Aibo is an autonomous robot and will quickly become a member of your family, right Aibo?’ Hirai said in an exchange on stage.
And, comically, the robo-dog didn’t respond, prompting Hirai to quip, ‘alright ignore me there.’
‘Because of Aibo’s artificial intelligence and image sensing technology, over time, Aibo will actually recognize you and actually deepen its emotional bond with each and every one of its owners,’ Hirai said.
‘The new Aibo is also connected to the cloud and your wireless network, and continually accesses knowledge accumulated.’
According to Hirai, it’s both ‘a charming companion and technological feat.’
