Her husband Chris Hemsworth flew solo at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

And now Elsa Pataky has explained her absence.

The 41-year-old Fast and Furious star revealed she was looking after their children at home and took the kids to a show, mucking around on her Instagram story.

She and Chris, 34, share three children together, five-year-old daughter India Rose and three-year-old twin sons Sasha and Tristan.

The pair this week shared a hilarious video of one of their sons scaling a fridge, as she tried to get up to the lollies hidden in the top cupboard.

‘My son found out where the chocolate is kept. Must find a new hiding place. He’s three,’ Chris captioned the clip, before adding the hashtag: ‘Tarzan rules’.

The video appears to have been taken at Elsa and Chris’ Byron Bay home, where the family celebrated Christmas.

The couple moved their family to the northern NSW region in 2014 in order to escape the Hollywood rat race.

‘We couldn’t take it anymore,’ Elsa told News.com.au last April.

‘In LA, my kids had a camera in front of them all the time and it made my daughter (India) become very scared of photos,’ said Elsa.
