The all-star cast of Black Panther also includes performances by Angela Bassett as T’Challa’s mother Ramonda, Sterling K. Brown as N’Jobu, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi and Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia.
Having first appeared in the Fantastic Four comic book published in July 1966, the Black Panther was the first black superhero in mainstream American comics.
African-American superheroes to follow included Falcon (1969), Luke Cage (1972), Green Lantern John Stewart (1971) and Black Lightning (1977).
The sci-fi drama is set to appear in theaters on February 16, 2018.
