‘To be continued!!!! No!!!!! What about the the cat? Did it make it?’ fumed a third.

During the date Vanessa had been visibly upset and said to the vet over the phone: ‘I thought he’d have a few more weeks…’

Despite the news, the pair went on to enjoy their date and after finishing dinner carried their evening on outside in the cabana.

They got extremely cosy, kissing and cuddling much to Vanessa’s delight as she’d admitted earlier in the programme that she just wanted to feel  ‘desirable and sexy’.

She told Julian after they kissed: ‘I feel 16 again.’

Suave Julian, who admitted he got a ‘thrill out of wearing colour’, joked that the pair should spend the night together.

Vanessa reflected: ‘It’s life isn’t it, endings and new beginnings. I don’t want to waste anymore opportunities.’

It was revealed at the end of the show that Julian and Vanessa had continued to date, and four months later were on their 12th date – a trip to the theatre.

Even though viewers were thrilled they had found happiness together, they remained desperate to know one thing – whether Vanessa’s cat had survived.
