A mother has been left appalled after a picture of her daughter was taken down from Instagram because people complained about the colour of the child’s skin.
Jordan Lee posted a pictured of her two-year-old daughter Winter frolicking innocently on a beach wearing no clothes.
Vile comments began to appear in the comments section of the picture, including one user who said: ‘It’s disgusting to see how dark your daughters skin is.’
A number of people reported the picture, and the social media giant Instagram pulled the photograph down.

Speaking to Mirror Online she said: ‘I was receiving a whole lot of kind messages and decided to post the photo explaining that we have an Aboriginal heritage on my mothers side so our skin is naturally dark and tans no matter how much sunscreen and zinc we wear.
‘I also called trolls out and made them aware that I am a real person with real feelings and emotions! I’m not just a robot.’
The outraged mother has yet to receive an explanation from Instagram as to why her photograph was taken down.
MailOnline has also contacted the social media platform, but nobody was immediately available for comment.
She posted another picture of herself and Winter yesterday addressing the situation.

It read: ‘Woke up this morning to see my post had been removed from Instagram because more then a few people had reported it.
‘I am disgusted at the thought that people who follow me Condon that ladies bullying and racist remarks.
‘My child’s skin is beautiful, I take all necessary measures to ensure her skin is protected and I wake up every damn day striving to be the best mother possible.
‘If you don’t like my posts or our skin colour offends you please just unfollow.
‘I won’t post about last night’s events again because I don’t want to be putting negative energy into the world but please realise I am a real person behind this account, I’m not a robot.
‘I have feelings and emotions and even though I have thick skin when it comes to trolls, degrading comments made about my children are not on’
