British Twitter turns on Trump after his UK no show

Social media users have poked fun at Donald Trump’s ‘rubbish excuse’ for cancelling his trip to London by offering their own amusing reasons for the no-show.

Mr Trump was expected to make his first trip to the UK since entering office to officially open the new US embassy in London.

However he has now cancelled the trip as he was unhappy about the sale of the former embassy ‘for peanuts’ by the Obama administration.

Mr Trump tweeted that he thought the embassy’s move from upmarket Grosvenor Square in Mayfair to Nine Elms, south of the Thames, was a ‘bad deal’.

Twitter users in Britain replied in hilarious fashion, poking fun at the President’s excuse while joking that many in south London would celebrate the cancellation.
