A woman who allegedly searched for tips on how to get away with murder before her husband was found dead in their Texas home was arrested for killing him.
Sandra Garner was taken into custody on Wednesday, eight days after the death of 42-year-old Jon Garner.
Police were called to the Garner’s Maypearl home on January 2 following a 911 call from Garner claiming that a masked intruder had broken into their home and shot and killed her husband, the Waxahachie Daily Light reports.

Garner, 55, later told investigators that she was ‘awakened that night by two gunshots and saw a masked male holding a gun and flashlight inside her residence’.
She claimed that the intruder told her he was not there to harm her and ‘held a grudge against her husband because of work-related matters’.

She then said she was forced to open a safe in the home and give the man approximately $18,000.
The alleged intruder told Garner to go into the bathroom and count to 100 until he left.
He also threatened to come back and kill her if he heard police sirens at the home, Garner told investigators.
Police seized several electronic devices during the investigation and searched the couple’s home and vehicles.
One device, authorities said belonged to Garner, contained an internet search for ‘how to kill someone and not get caught’.
A .38 caliber pistol was also found in her Ford Mustang. Police said the gun, which matched the one that was used to kill Jon Garner, had been wrapped in a paper towel and hidden inside two plastic bags.
Authorities said an initial search of the vehicle did not turn up the weapon.
‘It was apparent this firearm was moved to the vehicle after the initial search,’ Maypearl police chief Boyd Norton told the Waxahachie Daily Light.

Garner is being held on a $2million bond at the Ellis County Jail for murder charges. Police have not revealed a motive for the crime.
The couple had been married for 18 years before his death. He’s survived by two children, Andrea Miller and Wes Miller.
A funeral for Jon Garner, who worked as a general manager for DHL Express and We Pack, will be held on Saturday in Waxahachie.
