A shocking video shows the moment a police officer was knocked down and dragged by a car as it sped off during a traffic stop in Manhattan Saturday night.
The police officer, who has not been named, motioned to a black Mercedes-Benz C63 after the driver was allegedly doing donuts near Times Square around 11.45pm, the New York Post reports.
When he approached the car, seemingly to speak with the driver, the driver sped off straight into the officer.

The video shows the moment the car starts driving into the officer, who is desperately attempting to get out of its way.
He was carried on the hood of the Mercedes for roughly two car lengths and then managed to get down and onto the side of the car.
At that point he grabbed onto one of the windows and was dragged a few more yards before being thrown down onto the concrete.
The Mercedes kept moving, despite hitting an officer, and spend West on 42nd Street, smashing several other cars as it rushed off.

Police officers chased it down the road for multiple blocks, but were unable to catch up to it. The hit-and-run driver has not yet been arrested.
The officer suffered minor injuries to his right leg and hip, chest, arms and back, a source close to the department told the Post.
He was taken to Mt Sinai St Luke’s hospital where he is recovering from his injuries.
