An elderly man headbutted a fellow commuter in a scuffle on a late-night tram after he was offended by hearing him swearing.
The 78-year-old tussled with an 18-year-old man after confronting him on a Gold Coast tram about 2.30am as it rolled through Surfer’s Paradise.
He started by arguing with a man in a white singlet before fighting with a long-haired teenager who tried to defending himself by holding on to his arms.

Suddenly when the pair were locked together after he tried to throw more punches, he reared back and headbutted the younger man.
Onlookers alleged the bald man also punched the teen three times before the video began.
He was apparently upset by hearing the group of youths swearing on the tram and angrily confronted them about it.
However, the victim did not make a complaint to police and said he didn’t want the matter to go any further.
‘There’s no hard feelings and I don’t want the man to get into trouble,’ he told 9 News.
