Erin Molan has been officially announced as the face of a new-look NRL Footy Show for the 2018 season.
The Nine Network vowed last year to revamp its rugby league lineup as the long-running program’s ratings dwindled.
‘I’m thrilled to be hosting a new-look Footy Show,’ Molan said on Monday, according to Wide World of Sports.

Molan (pictured with axed host Paul Vautin) said: ‘I’m thrilled to be hosting a new-look Footy Show’
‘It is a huge honour and one I am incredibly excited about. I am a journalist first and foremost and cannot wait to focus a bit more on football, but of course still have loads of fun.’
While details of the new format haven’t been released in any detail, the show will be broadcast after Channel Nine’s Thursday night matches and will feature former and current NRL players.
Axed former host Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin, who was the face of the program for 23 years, will move away from the studio and in to the commentary box this season.
Beau Ryan and Darryl ‘The Big Marn’ Brohmann will return to the show, which will have a greater focus on football rather than entertainment.

‘We are delighted we’ve been able to retain Fatty’s services in the commentary box, and that Beau and Big Marn have agreed to roles for 2018 and beyond,’ Nine’s Director of Sport, Tom Malone told the publication.
The popular program, which launched the TV careers of Vautin, Ryan and Matthew Johns, has won a record 11 Logie Awards for Best Sports Program.
It has seen a steady decline in weekly audiences, from nearly 400,000 in the mid 2000s to an average of barely 80,000 last year.
‘It is a huge honour and one I am incredibly excited about,’ Molan said on Monday following the announcement
