Model Dominique Elissa shares health and beauty secrets

At 22, Dominique Elissa is living a life many women her age can only dream of.

Between travelling around Australia for shoots, representing swimwear brands in campaigns and modelling with Chic Management, the young woman has her hands full – albeit with a smile.

Sydney-based Dominique recently shared with FEMAIL her health and beauty secrets –  including her day on a plate and the one guilty pleasure she can’t live without.

DOMINIQUE’S DAY ON A PLATE

When it comes to her daily diet, Dominique’s approach is unsurprisingly healthy, balanced and packed with fresh vegetables:

‘In the morning, first up I’ll have a green protein shake,’ Dominique told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I usually put in one frozen banana, vanilla and cinnamon protein powder by Bare Blendz, maca powder, a handful of spinach, spirulina powder, ice and water.’

The 22-year-old doesn't hold back from treats if she needs them - she said she will enjoy a couple of pieces of 70 per cent dark chocolate in the evening if she wants it

As a morning snack, she’ll have a ‘handful of tamari almonds’.

Lunch usually sees the 22-year-old mix up ‘a tuna salad with brown rice, avocado and whatever other veggies I have in the fridge. The more colour, the better!,’ Dominique said of her approach to how she fills her plate.

If she’s hungry in the afternoon, Dominique will have a peanut butter protein ball before a dinner of ‘grilled salmons with sweet potato and broccoli’.

Refreshingly, Dominique is not one to deprive herself however. 

Fond of a ‘little treat’ in the evenings, the model will either enjoy frozen raspberries with honey or a couple of pieces of 70 per cent dark chocolate.

‘My guilty pleasure is peanut butter, though,’ she laughed. ‘I can eat an entire tub in one sitting!’. 

With such a honed physique, you might expect the model to be working out 24/7 - however, she said she tries to work out for just 30 minutes a day by prioritising walking

DOMINIQUE’S WEEK OF WORKOUTS

With such a honed physique, you might expect Dominique to be working out 24/7.

But, in fact, she only makes sure she’s moving for a matter of 30 minutes each and every day:

‘I have made it a priority to walk for 30 minutes every day, just to ensure my body moves daily,’ she said. 

‘I also incorporate a 15 minute ab and booty workout in the hotel room whenever I have the time.’

The 22-year-old then does two reformer Pilates classes and two yoga sessions a week:

‘Due to my busy schedule and the constant travel, it’s hard, but I’ve made it a priority to stay on top of my fitness,’ she explained.

In order to look after her hair, Dominique said she'll put coconut oil through the ends of it - she said this helps to keep it healthy

DOMINIQUE’S BEAUTY SECRETS 

Finally, when it comes to beauty secrets, Dominique is a fan of the natural look when she’s not working – as normally, she can have to wear a lot of make up:

‘On a day off I believe let your skin breathe because the more you get used to yourself without makeup, the more you’ll find the beauty in it,’ she recently told Husskie.

Dominique’s number one beauty secret is coconut oil:

‘I put it on the ends of my hair, and it keeps it healthy – for sure,’ she explained to FEMAIL.
