Man discovers having a ‘poop knife’ isn’t normal

Often it’s best to keep your toilet habits to yourself, within the privacy of your own bathroom.

But now, a man has shared with the world how he only discovered at the age of 22 that having a ‘poop knife’ is not normal.

The Reddit user, posting under the username LearnedButt, explained how the kitchen utensil was used within his household ‘to cut up the poop’ if the toilet would not flush.

He said he had believed it to be ‘standard kit’, until he used the toilet at a friend’s house and asked where he could find the ‘poop knife’.

A Reddit user has revealed how he only realised at the age of 22 that it wasn’t normal to have a ‘poop knife’ in the house

In the hilarious – and startling – post, the Reddit user explained: ‘My family poops big… Growing up, this was a common enough occurrence that our family had a poop knife.

‘It was an old rusty kitchen knife that hung on a nail in the laundry room, only to be used for that purpose.

He continued: ‘I thought it was standard kit. You have your plunger, your toilet brush, and your poop knife.’

Later explaining exactly how the knife was used, he described: ‘You cut the poop into smaller more flushable pieces then nudge it toward the hole.’

Many Reddit users said they were left in stitches after reading his story on the forum

However, it was when he used the toilet at a friend’s house and asked for his ‘poop knife’ that he realised this was not normal practice.

‘He starts giggling. Then laughing. Then lots of people start laughing,’ he recalled.

‘It… turns out that none of them had poop knives, it was just my f***** up family with their f***** up bowels. FML.’

Other Reddit users were quick to react to his story, with many admitting they had been left in stitches.
