Theo Walcott completes Everton medical before Arsenal exit

  • The England international will join the Toffees from Arsenal for more than £20m
  • Bournemouth and Southampton were also keen but Walcott, 28, chose Everton

Theo Walcott has completed his Everton medical at the club’s Finch Farm training ground ahead of his imminent transfer from Arsenal.

The 28-year-old England international is poised to join the Toffees in a deal worth in excess of £20million to Arsenal.

Walcott was seen exiting Finch Farm in a Mercedes-Benz driven by a member of Everton staff on Tuesday afternoon.

Despite having fallen out of favour with Arsenal, who have handed him just six appearances — all as a sub — in the Premier League this season, Walcott was also the subject of interest from Bournemouth and boyhood club Southampton.

But Walcott has opted for a move to Everton over a return to the South Coast.

Walcott will leave Arsenal having made 397 appearances and scored 108 goals since arriving from Southampton in 2006.

During his 12-year stint in London, Walcott won three FA Cups and two Community Shields.

He has been capped 47 times by England, but his international career has stalled.

His last outing for the Three Lions came in 2016 but he did not feature at the European Championship in France.
