Make-up artist Vincent Oquendo has tended to some of the most stunning faces in the modeling and acting worlds, from Bella Hadid to Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The pro is known for creating dramatic eye and lip looks and impossibly luminous complexions that turn heads on even the most star-studded red carpets.

While the dream is to have Vincent on speed dial, we’ll settle for his top tips. Recently, the face painter revealed to wmag.com the essential product he buys at CVS, the no-make-up make-up trick you haven’t heard before and more.

From the red carpet to your bathroom: Celebrity make-up artist Vincent Oquendo is spilling his tricks to recreating looks like this one on model Bella Hadid, 21

It’s refreshing to learn that even the Victoria’s Secret models Vincent works with do not wake up looking totally flawless. Thanks to their hectic travel schedules, he often has to reduce his clients’ puffiness before applying make-up.

To increase circulation and promote lymphatic drainage he’ll perform a facial massage with a tool like the Georgia Louise Lift + Sculpt Butterfly Stone.

‘I find, as well, that whenever I use foundation after that or skincare, it tends to glide on a little easier. It’s kind of like a morning stretch for your skin,’ he said.

Vincent also likes to prep his clients’ skin with an exfoliating wipe. Currently, he reaches for Burt’s Bees Exfoliating Facial Cleansing Towelettes.

‘I love it because it’s natural and I’ll scrub the lips with it, too,’ he said.

It's all about balance: According to Vincent, the key to nailing a no-make-up make-up look, like this one he created on Karlie Kloss, 25, is to layer powder and cream products

Vincent is a master at creating natural yet glam looks, which he said is all about playing with product textures.

‘For every glowy product, you have a matte product,’ he said. He’ll top a radiance-boosting foundation with a loose powder and add a cream highlighter and a matte bronzer over that. And if he uses a matte eyeshadow, he’ll highlight the inner corners with a satin-finish product.

Right now, Vincent is also into using blush as eyeshadow – a technique that only sounds intimidating.

‘It’s warm, it’s sultry, it’s sexy and light,’ he said of the trick that’s he’s used on a handful of clients, including on Bella Hadid at the Cannes Film Festival.

‘I used Dior’s Diorific Matte Fluid Lip & Cheek Velvet Colour in a cherry red on her eyes, cheeks, and lips, and then I put the Dior Lip Glow over that,’ he said. The result was a striking yet subtle look.
