Vlogger boosts her butt by doing ‘100 squats challenge’

A fitness vlogger has revealed how she was able to instantly add almost an entire inch to her derriere, simply by doing squats.

YouTuber Vanessa Blanco, 26, from Washington, D.C., completed the ‘100 squats challenge’ in a recent video, in an attempt to see whether the simple exercises can indeed help to improve your physique in mere minutes. 

And to her surprise – the challenge more than delivered, not only improving the overall look of her pert posterior, but also increasing its actual size by a very visible amount.

Before Vanessa embarked on the challenge – which requires a person to do 100 squats in one go, preferably without a break – she measured around her butt with an Orbitape tape measure, which guarantees maximum accuracy.  

Capturing the measuring process on her camera, Vanessa revealed that the starting measurement for her derriere was 42.4375 inches.

The fitness fanatic then got set to complete the rigorous challenge, getting stuck in almost immediately after completing her measurements – and documenting all 100 squats in a speedy time-lapse video, which appears to have been shot in her living room.

Although appearing to get through the exercises pretty easily, at the end of her squats Vanessa admits to the camera, ‘That sucked, I can’t feel my legs. My thighs are so sore, they’re numb.’

She continued to detail the rather significant pain she was in, reiterating that her legs felt ‘so sore’ and that she was experiencing severe cramps. 

However, this didn’t stop her from taking her measurements for a second time, and she revealed with delight that the challenge had indeed been a success, sharing a new butt measurement of 43.125 inches – meaning she had gained 0.6875 inches in just a few minutes.

And – she revealed – that effect lasted more than just a few hours. 

The next day, Vanessa measured her butt again and revealed that it had reduced slightly to 42.75 inches – but had not reverted back to its original size.

However, the YouTuber made clear that she didn’t expect the effects to last forever – certainly not without several more attempts at the squatting challenge. 

Vanessa explained that she felt the increase in her derriere was due to an effect known as ‘muscle pump’, which is when blood rushes to the muscles after they have been put under intensive strain – as Vanessa’s were during the squat challenge. 

This in turn causing the muscles to swell, which she believes was responsible for the immediate increase in the size of her butt and thighs.  

‘As I was doing the 100 squats, clearly the pumped up effect was happening,’ she noted.

Vanessa has previously documented her quest for bulking her hips, butt and glutes on her YouTube channel, revealing that she increased her hips from 38.5 inches to 41.5 inches in a period of three months in 2017. 

To do this, she said she had to bulk and gain weight to increase her hips, thighs and butt and achieved this by eating over her maintenance calories. 

Her macros were set for her height, weight, goals and exercise consistency, and she gained 10 pounds during this process. 

However Vanessa also admitted that some of her gain was fat and water weight as well as muscle.  

During this time she also stopped doing cardio and started lifting heavier weights at low reps to gain muscle. 

Her advice to others? ‘Food is your friend, I love food, I hope you love food. You’re not going to be able to grow a certain group of muscle if you don’t eat enough food.’
