Majority of women believe Trump is ‘mentally unstable’

A new survey released this week revealed the President Donald Trump’s approval rating is steadily increasing.

Zogby Analytics conducted a nationwide online survey from January 12 to January 15 of 847 voters measuring the president’s job approval rating.

According to the data, men and women are nearly split on how well they feel Trump is doing in office. Among male voters, 52 per cent give him a thumbs up while only 40 per cent of female voters praise the commander-in-chief.

Overall, the survey claims Trump has a 46 per cent approval rating among likely voters. In a September Zogby Analytics poll, that number was 43.

The survey also found that Trump has a 64 per cent approval rating among NASCAR fans, the highest percentage.

Trump’s biggest supporters are NASCAR fans. The survey says 64 per cent are in favor of him. Pictured is NASCAR racer Reed Sorenson (left) posing next to Trump supporters prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway in November 2016

Coming in close were voters who shop at Walmart on a weekly basis. Their approval rating is 58 per cent. Homeowners are also happy with Trump being in office. 52 per cent say he’s doing a good job, and 57 per cent of voters who have recently lost their jobs also give their approval.

‘President Trump’s job approval rating has improved because the current economic conditions in the U.S. are getting better,’ the survey states. ‘Not everything is pointing to an economic boom, but there’s increased optimism among businesses due to the recent tax cuts passed by Republicans and the stock market is at an all time high.

‘These factors and others might explain an increase in the president’s job approval rating right now with voters.’

Although Trump’s numbers have been increasing, there are still certain areas he continues to struggle in.

For example, his approval rating among African American voters is only 17 per cent compared to a 52 per cent approval rating for white voters and 45 per cent for Hispanic voters.

In a September poll, 23 per cent of African American voters were backing Trump.

Other highlights from the survey reveal that Trump’s numbers are higher in the South and the central/great lakes region and among voters aged 30 to 49 and 50 to 64.

‘The President is still not doing great with voters in the East region (41 per cent approve/57 per cent disapprove), voters living in large cities (41 per cent approve/56 per cent disapprove), and lower income voters earning less than $25,000,’ the survey claims

The survey also claims that among those voters who completed the online poll, 54 per cent ‘believe things will be good’ the next four years for the economy.
