One North Carolina police officer embraced his inner child during a record breaking snowfall on Wednesday.
The city of Charlotte issued an official social media ‘Snow Angel Challenge’ after the mayor tweeted the idea at the city.
‘The challenge has been issued. The bar has been set. Who will be the Queen City’s snow angel champ?’ the City of Charlotte’s official Twitter handle said.

The unnamed police officer appears to be the front-runner.
A video posted on Twitter shows the the cop lying in snow in short-sleeves flapping his arms and legs back and forth.
The clip shows his empty police cruiser (with lights still flashing) as he makes the snow angel on the ground behind it.
As of Thursday morning, the video has been viewed almost 10,000 times.
‘For some reason, he asked that we not share his name. But we promise this is the real thing!’ the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department tweeted.

When another user asked why, the department responded: ‘We think he’s afraid his coworkers will give him a hard time.’
Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles weighed in on the officer’s challenge, tweeting ‘Okay, I have to go into mama mode, where’s his coat?’
Lyles also participated in the challenge, posting a clip of herself making a snow angel in her yard.
‘Can’t let my granddaughter upstage me,’ she said.
The city had a record six inches of snow during a storm on Wednesday.
