A notorious ‘playboy rapist’ will be back on the streets as early as next week after a failed bid to revoke his release.
Corrective Services Commissioner Peter Severin made a bid to the State Parole Authority to stop Simon Monteiro being released two years before his sentence finished.
Mr Severin argued Monteiro, 50, would ‘be unable to adapt to normal lawful community life’.

But the SPA rejected the appeal and said Monteiro will be released under supervision, which includes being monitored with an electronic ankle bracelet, The Daily Telegraph reported
The former model and aspiring actor has served nine and a half years of a 12 year sentence for raping and assaulting his former girlfriend in Bellevue Hill in 2009.
He also smeared dirt on the walls of her home, killed her fish and threatened he would ‘gut her dad like a fish’ if she reported him to the police, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Simon Monteiro, who changed his name to Bonito Monteiro, was granted bail when he appeared in court via video link from Long Bay Correctional Centre earlier this month.
Ahead of the parole board’s decision, a petition objecting to Monteiro’s release circulated.

She said she didn’t report the assault because she feared he would seek revenge and kill her.

Another alleged victim, Kim Gentle, said she believed Monteiro would repeat his offending after he was released, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
She cited the case of Adrian Bayley, who raped and killed Melbourne woman Jill Meagher while he was on parole for rape.
‘His release into society not only puts me at risk again, but also many of his past victims,’ she wrote in a submission.
‘The offender is an extremely narcissistic, violent recidivist… with many antisocial mental health issues that are still variously diagnosed.’
Monteiro assaulted and stalked Ms Gentle over a six month period.
She claims he also suffocated her with a pillow on her 31st birthday.
He was handed a prison sentence for the assault but it was downgraded to a good behaviour bond on appeal, according to Fairfax.
Before he was imprisoned for rape and assault, Monteiro (pictured) boasted of his high-profile connections, including a friendship with Mariah Carey and a short relationship with actress Barbara Hershey
Before he was imprisoned for rape and assault, Monteiro boasted of his high-profile connections, including a friendship with Mariah Carey and a short relationship with actress Barbara Hershey.
Once behind bars, he launched several appeals and civil suits.
He also made a string of requests to corrective services, including asking for an orthopaedic mattress, a soft-bristled toothbrush, storage tubs, a fan heater and a raw food diet.
His requests were all denied by the prison system.
Monteiro also threatened to rape a prison guard’s wife while behind bars, according to the publication.
Monteiro was granted parole on Tuesday but no exact release date was confirmed.
