Ferne McCann puts post-baby figure down to breast feeding

She welcomed her daughter Sunday Sky to the world in November last year.

And new mum Ferne McCann has admitted that her evening at the National Television Awards on Tuesday night was difficult for her – seeing as it was the first time she’s properly left her two-month-old.

‘It was a big deal!’ she told MailOnline exclusively. ‘The NTAs were such a good evening but I was home by 10:30PM.

‘I was home by 10:30PM!’ Ferne McCann has admitted how tough it was leaving two-month-old Sunday to attend the NTAs… and puts her post-baby figure down to breast feeding

‘Being a mum is just all consuming. I was checking my phone all the time!

‘But Sunday was safe with my mum. She came up with me to London, my mum is such a great support.’

Ferne added that it was also strange to get back into the red-carpet-ready routine, dressing up for her evening with the stars.

‘So much prep goes into that,’ she said. ‘Doing a red carpet is nerve-wracking. I needed the spray tan, hair and make-up. I needed to get my dress altered. So much to get done.

‘And then today we had a 5AM start and we did a shoot. Sunday is with me when I go to work when she can be. I’m a working mum because my mum and dad taught me to earn my money.’

She went on: ‘The most important thing is the baby. Every parent will know you’re totally devoted to your new child.

I have enjoyed the baby bubble. But now it’s time to get back to work.’

Ferne has received a slew of messages from fans following the announcement of her pregnancy and the birth of Sunday. And she admits that the support has been touching – especially in a time that saw her ex, Sunday’s father Arthur Collins, arrested and sent to jail for his part in an acid attack last year.

‘It’s been humbling to receive so many kind words from social media and other fans.’

After what has been a trying time, it seems that Ferne is out on top, showcasing a svelte post-baby figure and going blonde for the new year.

‘I wanted to go blonde because it’s just fun to have a change,’ she said. ‘Is it a New Year, New Me thing? It always makes me laugh when people say that.’

And Ferne puts physique down to one particular element of new-motherhood. ‘Breast feeding works wonders,’ she stated.

Getting back to work has included the former TOWIE star launching a new beauty line with Poundland, which she has helped to design herself.

Body beautiful: 'So much prep goes into that,' she said. 'Doing a red carpet is nerve-wracking. I needed the spray tan, hair and make-up. I needed to get my dress altered. So much to get done'

‘I started working on it last summer. So I am so excited to actually have it in front of me. I picked the scents, the bottle shapes, the lashes – and it’s all affordable. Everyone loves a bargain.

‘But it feels really high-end. I went up to Poundland HQ in Wolverhampton when I was pregnant and I got to choose what body spray I like, what perfume I like.

‘The signature scent is inspired by Tom Ford – it’s very Mediterranean.’

Ferne McCann has launched her own exclusive collection at Poundland. The range includes body wash, body lotion, body sprays, false eye lashes and nails, for just a £1. In addition, there is a Eau De Toilette 50ml for £5. The range will be available in Poundland stores nationwide from February.
