He’s one of Australia’s much loved comedians and he’s finally landed his own TV program after spending a decade making guest appearances.
And during his first show on Tuesday, Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes couldn’t help but use his wife Holly Ife as a source of material for many of his jokes.
Fronting Hughesy, We Have A Problem the 47-year-old retold how, early on in their relationship, she tattooed his name on herself.

‘On Valentine’s Day she showed it to me and it said, “I heart Dave”,’ he recalled.
‘This was within our first year of the relationship. She got it as a surprise. And I felt that was an aggressive act,’ he joked.
But it seems as though Hughesy has come around to the tattoo that he initially found ‘aggressive’, as he shared a photo of it to Instagram.

Sharing a hilarious screenshot of a text exchange about a conversation she had with their five-year-old daughter Sadie, he failed to realise the grab captured a missed call alert from Holly which displayed her number.

‘You just posted your wife’s number of Twitter,’ one fan pointed out.
Another offered advice: ‘That’s either your number or Holly’s, if I know the internet like I do I’d probably crop that out’.
After he quickly deleted the tweet, concerned fans checked in with Hughsey to see if he was ‘still alive’.
