Using a window in the garage she gained entry to his home around 11:30pm Sunday night before smashing doors and walls with a hammer.

The victim then approached Finn and she struck him on the back with the handle end of the hammer before he tried to restrain her.

Mr Fox said the pair got into a scuffle until they were outside. While Finn was lying on a set of stairs she pushed him in the face and into the garage door.

The victim then sat on Finn until police attended the scene.

After standing the matter down for two days to come up with a suitable punishment, on Wednesday Magistrate Jeff Clarke ordered Finn to a nine-month head sentence prison term, wholly suspended and operational for 18 months.
