Dad has amazing response to daughter’s ‘lady issues’ text

A doting dad won the hearts of thousands when he asked his daughter what ‘lady’ was bothering her after she told him she had to leave work because of ‘lady issues.’

Kiera Platt, 25, from Long Beach, New York, took to Twitter over the weekend to share a screenshot of her father Mitch’s text messages to her, explaining: ‘I told my dad I went home early from work because of “lady issues.”‘

‘Aww s**t. Which lady bothered you enough to go home??’ her dad responded. ‘U want me to speak to that b***h!?’

Kiera’s hilarious post has been ‘liked’ more than 67,000 times and retweeted nearly 20,000 times. 

Many couldn’t resist praising Mitch for being so ‘pure’ that he didn’t realize his daughter was talking about her period. 

‘He bout to square up to Mother Nature,’ a woman named Frances commented, while Grace Lapointe tweeted that Kiera should tell him that the woman’s ‘name is ‘Aunt Flo.”‘

Someone named Benny tweeted: ‘Your dad seems to pure for this planet,’ and many agreed with him.

Meanwhile, Michael Mumisa‏ pointed out that Kiera’s dad is a ‘literalist,’ adding: ‘Dads tend to be literalists when listening to their children and yet they resort to metaphors and allegories when conveying their own messages to children.’

Although many people assumed Mitch was being serious with his response, others wondered if it was just a dad joke. 

‘Is he being serious or is this one of the greatest dad jokes of all time? I can’t tell,’ someone named Jake asked. 

It turns out Mitch was joking and just trying to make Kiera laugh, which he did.

‘He’s the master of ‘dad jokes,'” Kiera told BuzzFeed News. ‘He’s never failed at being awkwardly funny. 

‘When I was a teenager I used to feel embarrassed by it but now I embrace it. I couldn’t imagine his sense of humor being any other way.’

Mitch’s latest joke isn’t the only one that Kiera has posted on Twitter. She frequently takes screengrabs of her father’s messages to share online. 

‘Mitch part 3485937,’ she captioned one of Mitch’s messages, which read: ‘Good Morning!! Looks like a nice day! See you around 11:45. F**k you.’

In December, her dad texted her: ‘There are time when I feel so close to you I feel like you could be my daughter!’
