Game Of Thrones set video reveals HUGE spoiler

Winter is coming… but at least there’s a big fire to keep everyone toasty.

A video taken near the set of Game Of Thrones in Northern Ireland appears to show Winterfell being burned to the ground.

On Wednesday fan site Watchers On The Wall shared a Facebook video showing the enormous set in Moneyglass estate in flames.

In the series the castle is the ancestral home of the Stark family, which they have only just managed to retake from the treacherous Boltons.

But it looks like Jon, Sansa and Arya will be rendered homeless in the final season, which is currently in production.

According to Belfast Live, the fire was part of a huge battle scene involving some 400 – 500 extras.

Fire is a frequently used weapon in Westeros, usually wielded by Daenerys Targaryen (Emila Clarke) and her three dragons; however this is unlikely as things stand in the story, with Targaryen now allied with her unbeknownst-to-her nephew Jon Snow, AKA Aegon Targaryen.

The colour of the fire hints to the cause: if left their natural yellow it suggests Drogon or Rhaegal might be responsible, or it is just a regular old case of arson.

However if the flames are made green in post-production, it suggests Wildfire, a weaposised concoction favored by the Lannsiters.

If they are rendered blue it places blame squarely on the Night King’s shoulders, and his newly comandeered wight ice dragon, Viserion.

En route: This last scenario is most likely; in the season seven finale, the Night King breached the wall with the resurrected dragon and was last seen heading south, where Winterfell is the next stop

Lena Heady, who plays Cersei Lannister recently told Mashable: ‘We had a giant read-through with all the cast in October, and I think pretty much everybody cried at one point. And it was… pretty surprising.’

Peter Dinklage, who plays her stranged brother Tyrion also told the same site: ‘It was heartbreaking and the end of an era.’

The eight and final season of Game Of Thrones — which will consist of only six episodes — premieres on HBO in 2019.
