A mum-of-three who was frustrated by the lack of fresh baby food in supermarkets decided to take matters into her own hands.
Now Emily Dupuche’s Food Babies Love Fresh Pots can be found in 400 Woolworths stores across the country.
The bestselling author was first inspired to create her own baby food range when she realised just how little variety was available to parents.
Melbourne mum-of-three Emily Dupuche has launched Food Babies Love Fresh Pots, which can be found in 400 Woolworths stores across Australia
‘I felt there was an imbalance that you could buy fresh pet food in Australian supermarkets, but you couldn’t buy any fresh baby food,’ she said on Today.
‘So I set about trying to change that. It’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I’m very proud to have achieved it.’
The Food Babies Love Fresh Pots come in five flavours: Greek Lamb Casserole, Red Lentil Dahl, Pumpkin and Sage Risotto, Baby Bolognaise, and Chicken Curry.
‘They’re all specially formulated for babies, with no added salt, sugar, or preservatives. They’re all natural,’ she explained.

The recipes were all inspired by Emily’s bestselling book Food Babies Love, a guide to introducing babies to solid food.
The Melbourne mum wanted to create recipes that would introduce children to gentle spice, new flavours, and plenty of different textures.

‘What a baby consumes in the first 12 months of life is setting their taste preferences for the rest of their life,’ she recently told Onya Magazine.
‘So it’s really important to expose them to a wide variety of tastes, colours, and textures.’
And when her recipes proved extremely popular, Emily decided to make them even more accessible.
‘I felt our babies deserved better,’ she said. ‘I also wanted to give time poor parents the option of buying a high quality convenient product, just like they’d make at home.
‘I know parents can feel guilty if they don’t have time to make food themselves, and worry that they’re not providing their bub with all the nutrients and texture they need.
‘Now, if they’re working late, going out, on holiday, or just every day busy, parents have a convenient and healthy fresh food option that their children will love.’
Emily wanted to make sure each pot was specifically formulated for babies, with no added salt, sugar, or preservatives
Emily also chose to go with transparent packaging instead of a pouch so parents can see what they’re buying – and children can see what they’re eating.
‘If food is coming out of a pouch they don’t get to see it, touch it – it’s just kind of invisibly being consumed,’ she said on the Today show.
‘It’s really important for a child to get the opportunity to play with the food, smear it in their hair, drop it on the ground. It’s all a part of the journey.’
Food Babies Love Fresh Pots are available in the Woolworths kids yoghurt section for $5.75 each.
They are suitable for bubs 12 months and above, but the food can also be blended or mashed with a fork for younger children.
