The 59-year-old has allegedly been ‘waiting in the wings’ since tennis player Bernard Tomic’s unprecedented exit this season.

Described by the paper as tending to ‘suffer from foot-in-mouth syndrome’, Channel 10 has reportedly neither confirmed nor denied if Paul was headed to South Africa.

His speculated arrival has been depicted as ‘a major coup’ for the network, considering the surprise ratings he brought in for the show’s British version.

Despite reports, the rumours were squashed on Friday when a spokesperson for the high-profile butler told Fairfax Media he won’t be starring in the show.

Speaking often on royal matters, Paul offered his opinion late last year on the impending nuptials of Diana’s son Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle.

The former close confidante of the late princess said she would have been ‘overjoyed’ about her youngest son’s engagement.

‘Clearly, this is love,’ he stated during an appearance on British TV show Lorraine.

‘It’s not going to be easy for them,’ he offered, with his rare insight into life behind palace walls.

‘Who’d have thought an American, divorcee, Catholic would have married a Prince of the United Kingdom?’ he continued.

He explicitly approved of the union and described Meghan, 36, as ‘a mature young woman who knows her own mind’.
