In 2000 Backyard Blitz provided a vehicle for the hunky gardener to become a household name.

After appearing on a string of renovation shows, Jamie finished his run on Australian TV with The Outdoor Room in 2007.

In November of that year, Jamie was noticed by the producers of The Oprah Winfrey Show, appearing on the iconic program.

Back to his personal life, however, it appears muscular hunk has gone through a process of reinvention of late, coming to terms with his ‘partially painful past.’

Taking to Instagram while on holidays in Bali in June last year, he opened-up about coming to terms with past decisions.

‘We all get so caught up in work and our busy lives that we forget how to live a life of fulfilment,’ he wrote in the post.

Then adding: ‘I have been right in this space, allowing ego, ambition, thoughtlessness to make decisions that can sometimes hurt the ones you love.’

The hunky TV personality finished the post with an apology: ‘I’m sorry for any pain I’ve caused.’

Despite growing up in Australia, the hunky gardener now splits his time between his home on Sydney’s northern beaches, the US and Milan.

However, he’s happy that his new gig will bring him back down under.

‘At this moment I only spend about 50 per cent of my time in Australia and this year I want to make it like 70 per cent,’ he told The Daily Telegraph.
