Jess Impiazzi: ‘I’m more intelligent than Ann Widdecombe’

She came in third place on Friday evening’s Celebrity Big Brother finale, beaten to second place by Ann Widdecombe.

And Jess Impiazzi – former glamour model and Ex On The Beach star – has admitted that one of the highlights of her stay in the famous house was when she claimed cucumbers had salmonella, only for Ann to wrongly rebuff her.

‘Seriously, one of my perks was when I found out I’m more intelligent than Ann – when I found out that cucumbers had salmonella,’ she told MailOnline.

‘I’m more intelligent than Ann!’ Glamour model Jess Impiazzi has insisted that ‘the cucumber debate’ proved she’s more clued-up than former-politician Ann Widdecombe

Jess – who found herself in debates with Ann about everything from Brexit to gonorrhea – had famously asked Ann, Amanda Barrie and Andrew Brady if they remembered the time cucumbers had to be recalled because of a salmonella outbreak.

While she was ridiculed, albeit lightheartedly, by the others, it turned out she was referring to an incident in 2015/2016 when officials investigated a multi-state outbreak of Salmonella Poona linked to slicer cucumbers in the USA.

Jess went on to explain how she felt she had done great things in the CBB house to change the typical perspective of glamour models.

‘I’ve always been shut down by people saying “shut up and get your tits out”,’ she said. ‘But since being in [CBB] I have been learning from women who are in parliament, an who are journalists and detectives.

‘People just think I’m a silly glamour model and I hope I have beaten that stereotype.’

Jess admitted that the whole experience has also helped her to ‘beat anxiety’ and said: ‘It means I can look after myself and get on with anything.’

Of her other housemates, she felt Maggie Oliver deserved a place in the final, and admitted she was particularly close to her, Amanda and Ann.

‘Ann and I disagreed on 99.9 percent of stuff,’ she said. ‘But we just moved past that and managed to get on. It felt like she was my nan so she made me feel at home.’

Jess faced a difficult moment when a debate took place regarding people who have sex on TV – something she did when she was on Ex On The Beach. This saw her retreat to the diary room, where she broke down in tears over it.

‘I felt that I needed to speak about it. I was upset,’ she said. ‘But I don’t regret bringing that up. That was form the heart and I had to get that weight off my chest.’

Of transgender housemate India Willoughby, Jess explained that ‘inside she is a good person’ despite previously admitting she’s scared of her.

‘India is suffering her own battles. It was best to just leave her alone sometimes so I just backed off.’

She also revealed that she had somewhat of a crush on Jonny Mitchell – which has come as somewhat of a bombshell since there appeared to be no interest inside the house.

‘I love conspiracy. So does he. He’s not my usual type but he’s got a good brain and talks about stuff I like to talk about. Who knows what might happen, if he doesn’t run a mile,’ she said.

‘It’s a path I’m desperate to go down. I’d like to be a McQueen,’ she said, referring to the notorious soap family. ‘I have an acting agent. And I have two modelling contracts now with clothing brands. So the future is bright.’

‘Oh and I’d also like to be in a panto as the good fairy!’ she added.
