A baby has been rushed to a Townsville hospital after nearly drowning in a backyard swimming pool on Sunday night.
Adults present at the Kelso property pulled the 11-month-old from the water and started to administer CPR before emergency services arrived on the scene, according to the Townsville Bulletin.
‘The bub was breathing by the time paramedics arrived on scene,’ a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said.

‘He was transported under lights and sirens to Townsville Hospital in a critical condition.’
It’s believed that the infant was under the surface for about two minutes before being rescued at around 10pm.
The baby’s condition reportedly improved overnight, and he is now considered to be stable.
‘It’s a good time to reiterate some pool safety tips,’ the QAS spokesman said. ‘Always supervise children around pools, learn CPR and keep your skills up to date.’
