A child is never too old to get gifts from their parents – and as far as one dad is concerned, that saying remains true, even if your kid isn’t overly willing to take what is on offer.
Indeed, according to one Imgur user, who goes by the name somebodysmama, her father simply wouldn’t take no for an answer when it came to his offer of some extra spending money – so much so that he began hiding $20 bills in her home every time he visited.
And it’s clear that the unnamed woman’s father isn’t short on creativity, with his daughter capturing all of the many weird and wonderful hiding places where he has stashed his cash over the years, sharing them all in a series of images.

The list includes the top of a cupboard, behind the strings of a guitar, and the inside of a bag – but never the same place twice as he likes to keep her on her toes.
‘I live close to him and he sees me regularly,’ the woman wrote on Imgur while sharing the pictures. ‘We’re buddies. He usually doesn’t leave another until I find one.’
To thank her father, the woman said that cooks him huge meals because he wouldn’t accept anything more; she added that he does enjoy receiving pictures of the cash once she has found it, however, and often just responds with the sunglasses emoji.
But as if the surprise money wasn’t enough, her dad even sends her heartfelt text messages.
Imgur users have commented on the viral post showing their affection and appreciation for the sweet father.

Somebodysmama even responded to the sweet comment and said: ‘I will. I tried to hide a $10 in his wallet once and he had it back in my purse before I left his house. He’s magical.’
Others, used the heartwarming story as a means to share similar experiences they have had with their parents.
One person said: ‘This is great. I have a great dad too. We never had a ton of money growing up but he would give me the shirt off his back if I asked.’

She said: ‘He raised five kids alone while my mom was sick. Now his grand babies are his entire world. He’s the best papa.’
‘I use aaaMy Father so he’s always at the top and so rescue workers can call him or aaaMy Husband (I have a seizure disorder). He started doing this because I wouldn’t accept his money when he would come to my house for dinner.’
‘He wants you to know he is also a great-grandfather (three times over) – He would adopt all of you as long as you bring food.’
