Guy Sebastian NOT going to appear on I’m A Celebrity

He beat Shanon Noll in the first season of Australian Idol back in 2003.

And although rumours have continued to swirl that Guy Sebastian would be reuniting with the runner-up on I’m A Celebrity….Get Me Out Of Here!, on Tuesday the artist confirmed this wasn’t the case.

Speaking to Stav, Abby and Matt on their HIT105 breakfast show, the 36-year-old said he wouldn’t survive one day in the South African jungle but thought Shannon would take the crown home.

Not going to happen: On Tuesday, Guy Sebastian confirmed he would not be entering the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here jungle despite rumours

‘I’m definitely going to be catching up with Nollsie, but definitely not in a jungle,’ he said.

With a fair explanation, Guy went on to say he’d be worse than tennis player Bernard Tomic, who became the first celebrity in the series’s four seasons to opt out in under three days.

‘I’d be worse than Tomic,’ he continued. ‘I think I’d quit on day one.’

Not the right place: 'I'm definitely going to be catching up with Nollsie, but definitely not in a jungle,' said Guy

‘Look, I just need my X-Box, I need my phone, I need my things around me. I just wouldn’t be good in that environment. You’d just see a different Guy Sebastian, I’d be very grumpy.’

Calling the What About Me singer ‘relatable’, ‘down-to-earth’ and ‘real’, he said this time round, Shannon could take it home.

‘I reckon he’ll clean up,’ said Guy.

The news comes after Shannon told OK! magazine before entering the jungle that he would love to see Guy in there.

‘I’d hate to be in [the jungle] with anyone who’s a s**t stirrer,’ he said.

‘It would be great to be in there with Guy Sebastian though!’

Both rising to fame in 2003, Guy controversially beat Shannon on the first series of Australian Idol to which the winner later joked the defeat was a ‘robbery’.
