Ruby Wax says her face cream is better than Botox

From anti-wrinkle injections to laser resurfacing treatment, there’s no end of cosmetic surgery procedures to banish the effects of ageing.

But Ruby Wax claims to have found an age-defying product that stands above the rest – and, apparently, it’s even better than Botox.

The comic admitted she turned to Botox to keep the wrinkles at bay, but now relies on La Prairie cream, which costs £150. Botox can cost up to £350 per session.

Miss Wax, 64, said: ‘I use La Prairie to give my skin a bit of a glow. I have had Botox in the past.

Then I was told about La Prairie and I haven’t had Botox for a couple of years now.

We all age and if you want to look after yourself as you get older, I recommend La Prairie and meditation.’

US-born Miss Wax, a mother of three, also recommended keeping an active sex life and gardening.

She said: ‘Meditation keeps you young because it brings down the stress hormone, cortisol.

‘But saying that, don’t beat yourself up if meditation’s not your thing. Garden. Or have a lot of sex.
