A 25-year-old football player is learning how to walk again after an accident during a camping trip with friends and family left him paralysed.

Josh Davis severely injured his spinal cord on January 5 after he fell into the shallow section of a river near Corowa, at the NSW and Victoria boarder.

At the time, Mr Davis was holidaying with his family and the parents of Patrick Cronin, a close friend who was killed by a coward punch during a fight in 2016, according to The Herald Sun.

‘Josh is now in the spinal clinic at the Austin Hospital and his road to recovery is long and hard,’ she said.

‘Without the use of his limbs, he has to learn to live all over again. A task, that may seem daunting to most, Josh is determined to overcome this challenge, one day at a time.

‘He is still paralysed from the shoulders down,’ Jeff Davis said.

The family is asking for donations to help pay for the 25-year-old’s mounting medical and rehabilitation bills.
