A cheeky snake has put in a valiant effort to wiggle its way up a staircase and into the lounge room where a group of friends were playing Monopoly.
Rae Painter was enjoying the board game with two friends in her Sunshine Coast home on Monday, until one of them got up for a glass of water and made the alarming discovery.
A python about two metres long was ‘just chilling’ in the kitchen, right next to where the 25-year-olds were playing about 8pm.

‘We were shocked and didn’t know what to do and jumped straight onto the chairs and were screaming as you can imagine,’ Ms Painter told Daily Mail Australia.

She said the battle lasted about 15 minutes until the legless lizard was removed from the house and thrown outside.
‘It was trying to get in under the fridge and into bedroom,’ she said.

Originally from England, Ms Painter said having a snake in her home was one of her worst nightmares come to life.
She had left the front door open to let some cool summer breeze into the house, but certainly won’t be doing the same in future.
It was the first time she’d ever seen a snake in her 13 years living in Australia.
