A young mother was furious after she received an entire recycling bin’s worth of Amazon packaging which was used to protect two pillows.
Alix Pearson, 24, ordered two £6 Slumberdown products and was stunned when they arrived covered in reels of protective paper.
A video shows Ms Pearson removing the items – which were already encased in plastic – from the large cardboard box they were delivered in.
Ms Pearson, from Thetford, Norfolk, is now furious because the unnecessary packaging has completely filled her recycling bin, which is not due to be collected for another 10 days.

She slammed the online retailer and wrote: ‘Thank you for delivering my parcel safely and quicker than expected.
‘But I have to say, is this level of packaging really necessary? My front room is now filled up with brown paper and a huge box.’
Ms Pearson, who has a one-year-old daughter Bella, added: ‘I received the order yesterday bycourier.
‘I just thought it was so unnecessary, with all the recycling nowadays, It was just so extreme.
‘My recycling bin is full now from one package and the bin doesn’t get collected for another week and a half.
‘It’s completely ridiculous. And why was the box so huge too?! Still, my one year old daughter had a field day.’
The packaging fail comes just months after customers accused Amazon of ‘chopping down the rainforest’ after using 45 feet of paper to protect a wall calendar.
Last year, another customer was left confused after the online giant delivered a roll of bubble wrap in a large box – encased with 100ft of brown paper.
Bizarrely, the rules on packaging seem to be blurred as last Christmas they were accused of ruining Christmas by furious parents after delivering presents without any packaging at all.
Children ended up seeing presents as couriers came to the door to make deliveries.

This is the bizarre moment an Amazon customer unwrapped an enormous delivery box – with just a belt inside
Amazon previously stated that they are pursuing a multi-year waste reduction initiative to promote 100 percent recyclable packaging and will ship items to customers in their own packages without additional boxes.
It comes just one day after a different Amazon customer unwrapped an enormous delivery box which had just a belt inside.
Astonishing pictures posted on Twitter show the female recipient standing beside the towering parcel.
The box, which is almost as tall as she is, contains six enormous rolls of protective paper.
Amazon said: ‘We want to optimise the overall customer packaging experience.
‘This includes driving improvements in the sustainability of packaging across Amazon’s supply chain, starting with our own packaging and our own operations.
‘We continue to pursue multi-year waste reduction initiatives – e-commerce ready packaging and Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging – to promote easy-to-open, 100% recyclable packaging and to ship products in their own packages without additional shipping boxes.’
