Beau Ryan ‘ignored’ by former Footy Show cohost Erin Molan

NRL Footy Show star Beau Ryan has revealed that he and his co-host Erin Molan no longer speak after Channel Nine’s decision to revamp the show and build it around her.

Speaking to KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show Beau said that since the network announced the shake-up last year, co-host Erin has ‘completely ignored him’.

‘Erin doesn’t answer my calls anymore,’ Beau said. ‘She’s obviously big time’.

Beau said that the 35-year-old ‘very busy’ at the moment ‘having a baby and all that’, before adding that she’s ‘probably running the entire network at the moment’ along with Today show host Karl Stefanovic.

A curious Jackie O asked Beau if Erin and Karl were ‘the favourites’ at the network to which Beau tellingly replied: ‘No comment’.

The 32-year-old  former footy player said that he will be back on deck filming with the show in March and vowed to ‘report back’ to the pair as to how things were going.

Jackie continued to probe the father-of-two as to whether ‘anyone’s nose was put out of place’ following the sacking of former Footy Show host Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin who had hosted the show for 23 years.

Once again Beau told the hosts that he ‘couldn’t answer that’ because ‘no-one answers my calls’.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Erin Molan for comment.

The revelations will come as a shock to many as Beau and Erin have publicly supporter one another through recent scandals.

In 2015 Erin threw her support behind Beau and his family after it was revealed he had an affair with Hi-5 entertainer Lauren Brandt.

Speaking to the Daily Mail Australia at the time Erin said that she backed Beau and his wife Kara, calling them ‘good friends’.

‘I think it’s a personal issue, and it’s something for Kara and Beau to deal with, and not for us to commentate on. I respect their privacy in dealing with this,’ she said.

The support was mutual with Beau also standing by Erin in 2017 when allegations she had an affair with property mogul Anthony Bell during his marriage to wife Kelly Landry.

Erin was dragged into an AVO court battle between former Channel Nine presenter Kelly and her estranged husband Anthony with claims she enjoyed an ‘odd’ relationship with him.

But in an interview with Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa  Beau called the claims ‘b***s****’.

He went on to add that he’s ‘fully supportive of her as a colleague and more importantly, as a friend.’

Last year the network announced they would be dumping the Footy Show’s male hosts to give Erin her own show – designed around a cheaper model – and at a later time slot on Thursday nights.

While details of the new format haven’t been released in any detail, the show will be broadcast after Channel Nine’s Thursday night matches and will feature former and current NRL players.

Axed former host Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin, who was the face of the program for 23 years, will move away from the studio and in to the commentary box this season.

Beau Ryan and Darryl ‘The Big Marn’ Brohmann will return to the show, which will have a greater focus on football rather than entertainment.

Fatty, who found out he had been sacked while on holiday with his family in the US, said he respected Nine’s decision to replace him with co-star Erin Molan.

‘In the end nothing lasts forever,’ Fatty wrote to WSFM’s Brendan Jones at the time.

‘I had a great run, especially for a short, chubby, red-head who played for both Manly and Queensland.

‘That’s not a career, that’s a miracle.’

Ironically, Mr Vautin joked in a 2015 interview that the bubbly blonde was a ‘real talent’, hinting she could one day take his job.

Molan first joined the NRL Footy show in 2012, before becoming a full-time host alongside Beau Ryan in 2015.
