A pub’s extensive dress code barring patrons with ‘rat’s tails’, ‘fight wear’ and ‘stepped haircuts’ has sparked controversy online.
The dress code at Northshore Tavern in Hillarys, Perth excludes customers in workwear, high-visibility clothing or Ugg boots, which are ‘not acceptable at any time’.
‘No effort – no entry,’ the sign on the door reads in all capital letters.
Also banned are ‘steel-capped boots’, ‘dirty stained or otherwise poorly maintained clothing’, ‘singlets or tank tops’, ‘thongs or sandals’, ‘tracksuits’, and ‘fleeced hoodies’.

‘Rat tails! Ha. They mean pull start for a f**kwit,’ another posted.
In a statement provided to Daily Mail Australia, the pub’s management said they ‘wish to make a sincere apology to all persons affected by the incorrect grammatical use of an apostrophe in the word “tattoos” in the dress code’.
