A teenager has died after a ‘dangerous’ police chase ended in a fatal car crash in Perth on Thursday afternoon.
Authorities began to follow the red Nissan Pulsar on Altone Road in Lockridge, but according to Perth Now, officers called off the pursuit because of the ‘driving conditions’.
The 16-year-old male driver then side-swiped another car at the intersection of Great Northern Highway and Reid Highway before police resumed their chase.

Stingers were used in an attempt to stop the Nissan, but officers were forced to stop the pursuit a second time because of the ‘dangerous’ conditions.
Shortly after 5.30pm, the car slammed into a tree at Hovea, near Mundaring on the Great Eastern Highway, killing the teenage boy behind the wheel.
An 18-year-old woman and another 16-year-old boy who were in the car are in a stable condition in Royal Perth Hospital.
The female passenger was airlifted by the RAC helicopter to hospital as the man was cut out of the wreckage by emergency services.
It took several hours before he was transferred to hospital in an ambulance with serious leg and spinal injuries.
Major crash detectives and the internal affairs unit are both investigating the incident.
