The latest 50 Shades film has already had a drubbing from critics, but for those disappointed by the movie there’s a much more glamorous option on offer than trudging to the local multiplex.
House of Noir is an ‘immersive theatrical experience’ hosted in private members clubs around the world, with the next party taking place in London next week, for an invite-only clientele from the creative and banking industries who pay £45 to £95 for a ticket.
Although the exact details of the night remain shrouded in mystery, organisers insist it’s not a sex party but rather a ‘fiesta of erotic art, fine dining and dancing with guests dressed in provocative attire while being thrilled with a touch of BDSM.’
Images from a previous event show blindfolded guests seated around the dinner table, and attendees wearing little more than lingerie and Venetian masks, bondage-style leather harnesses, and nipple tassels.
Another provocative image shows a figure in lingerie hanging from the ceiling in a harness with her hands tied behind her back while another woman reaches up to kiss her.
The parties, which started in 2012, were founded by London-based art director and psychotherapist Britt Sanja Jusic, 40, from Croatia to meet the demand for ‘kink ignited by the release of 50 Shades of Grey.’

‘To some, the content of the book has given permission to read erotic content openly, and in a sense it has give some women a sense of liberation, a sense of personal empowerment,’ she said.
‘I am pretty sure this led to further inner exploration, flirtation if you must, with individual sexuality and the shadows that sexuality brings.
‘Even though the BDSM dynamic in the book was romanticised and EL James representation of a sado-masochist relationship may be inaccurate, one could even say abusive, it was fascinating to witness how many women and mainstream in general are interested in things that are on its edges.
‘With that comes a longing to explore and get to know ourselves more.

Guests and performers must be willing to dress up provocatively for the event
Set up in 2012, the event was designed to fuel the desire for ‘kink’ sparked by the release of the 50 Shades books
Guests are seen using a woman as a table to balance their coffee on at the event, which is inspired by BDSM
‘One of the unique things is that we create our own Noir scenes that can only be seen at our events. Most of the time they are inspired by personal or guests fantasies.’
Although the events take place around the world in locations such as Bahrain, Hong Kong and Dubrovnik they’re mainly held in London in venues that boast period features and decadent character to add to the overall atmosphere.
The last London party was hosted at Tramp, while the next takes place at Morton’s on 17th February, although only those part of the Noir Circle can get a ticket.
