An injured dog has been put down after being involved in a horror crash west of Tweed in New South Wales.
Two cars collided at a bend on Numinbah Road at about 5.30am on Friday, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported.
Rescuers set out to rescue a 23-year-old woman from one car and other volunteers sat with a black male kelpie at the scene.

An injured dog has been put down after being involved in a horror crash west of Tweed in New South Wales
It is believed the dog was travelling in one of the vehicles.
Tweed Volunteer Rescue Squad secretary Drew Carr said the scared dog was hiding under an ambulance.
‘They (volunteers) got the dog out and realised it was severely injured.’
The kelpie was rushed to King Street Vets but sadly had to be put down due to the severity of his injuries.
Rescue workers managed to free the 23-year-old woman who suffered leg and pelvis fractures.
Police are investigating.
