A three-bedroom bungalow has sold for $2.35million – a whopping $600,000 more than expected after being lived in by the owner for 94 years.
Tom Riley was just 18-months-old when he first moved into the residence at 56 Bayview Road, in Sydney’s Canada Bay, with his family.
Now, at 95-years-old the former boilermaker has let the property go – for a tidy sum he and his children are believed to be ‘over the moon’ with, realestate.com reported.

‘They’re just thrilled — it was way beyond their expectations,’ McGrath agent Belinda Cassano said.
Ms Cassano had eight people register for the auction but only three were able to place bids after the auction started off at $1.65 million.
Increasing at $100,000 and $50,000 eventually one bidder dropped out just before the $2million mark, however the other two – the eventual buyers and a local resident who wanted the block for his son – continued to show their interest.
‘I think it was two people who were really emotionally motivated to own it,’ Ms Cassano said, doubting the high sale price was a reflection of the current market.

A neighbour believed the new homeowners are a couple who have also purchased two properties aside the home, as auction-goers hinted the pair have bigger plans.
‘They want to buy up the whole street, for their kids,’ one said.
The much-loved abode still boasts its original feature with an extended garden, offering space to build a granny flat.
Accommodation includes three ‘generously sized bedrooms’ as well as a handy kitchen which the new owners may like to give a modern touch up to.
The side driveway leads to double lock-up garage at the rears and the home is situated close to Westfield Burwood, Strathfield, buses and trains, the listing stated.
