Osher Günsberg talks finding love on set of The Bachelor

As host of The Bachelor, he’s played cupid to some of Australia’s most high-profile couples.

But it turns out Osher Günsberg also found the love of his life while filming the popular dating show.

The 43-year-old met his now-wife Audrey Griffen, 37, on set of The Bachelor season two back in 2014.

Falling in love behind the scenes: The Bachelor’s Osher Günsberg and his wife Audrey Griffen have spoken with Sunday Life about falling in love on the set of the reality show back in 2014

In an candid interview with Sunday Life, the couple spoke about meeting for the first time when Audrey was hired as The Bachelor’s makeup artist for Blake Garvey’s ill-fated season.

Upon their first encounter, Osher was single following his split from actress Noa Tishby several years earlier.

He recalled: ‘I was complaining about how hard it was to meet someone. I remember saying that I can’t go to bars because I don’t drink, and the last time I was single there were Nokia phones, and what is this Tinder thing?’

Instantly smitten: Osher was immediately attracted to Audrey, although she told Sunday Life that she initially mistook his shyness for a lack of interest

However, Osher – who hosted Australian Idol for seven seasons under his previous moniker Andrew G- was instantly smitten when he met single mother Audrey.

But Audrey didn’t immediately register that Osher was into her until after their first date, telling Sunday Life: ‘There’s a lot of bravado that’s required in front of the camera, but he was quite shy and timid- [and he had] a very self-deprecating and endearing side’.

It wasn’t long until the pair fell in love, going on to tie the knot in December 2016.

Osher has relished becoming a step-father to Audrey’s 13-year-old daughter, Georgia, with the trio recently taking a skiing holiday in Canada.

Marking their first anniversary last December, Osher gushed on Instagram: ‘Thanks for dealing with me, my stupid brain and my (now slightly less) ridiculous schedule. Life with you and Georgia has made everything better”.

While Blake Garvey famously failed to forge a successful romance on the 2014 edition of The Bachelor, it hasn’t escaped Osher and Audrey that they were the ones who found love behind the scenes.

‘I think it’s amazing that we are the only successful couple from Blake Garvey’s season!’ Audrey quipped to the magazine.
