Terrifying footage has emerged of a giant wild boar invading a garbage bin close to a school in Hong Kong.

Tu Dong posted the video to Facebook showing the pig, with its piglets, ferociously gobbling at food from the black bin on its tip-toes.

The video has been shared 4,600 times and had 300,000 views.

The huge and unaware feral hog is standing in the middle of the street scoffing from the bin. 

It tries to pull open a black bin bag as its cubs sniff around the bins.

The video has had more 2,500 comments from people on social media.

Thomas Cham wrote: ‘I’m looking for a pig’.

Another user, Denys Ho, wrote: ‘I’m looking for dinner’.  

Misaki Ceci, more concerned about the pig’s proximity to the school than her stomach, commented: ‘The Wild Pig is in front of the left school. I’m careful with Hyung-Hyung’s primary school, and I’ve got a wild boar’. 

Most people in the comments feed expressed sympathy for the obviously hungry boar.

Wong Cho Ching wrote: ‘To stir up the native boar, is no place to live. It’s so hungry, and wild boar has the right to live and freedom. He is only hungry for food.’ 

‘Pityful, they are hungry, my goodness,’ ZiLing Pang wrote.
