Klopp doesn’t know what future holds for Simon Mignolet

  • Loris Karius is set to be selected for Liverpool’s Champions League tie in Porto
  • The German has found himself regularly rotated with Belgian Simon Mignolet
  • But Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to make Karius the undisputed No 1

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he is not quite sure what the future holds for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

The Belgian’s Reds career has been plunged into further doubt after Klopp confirmed he would abandon his previous rotation policy for cup competitions.

That decision means Loris Karius, who took Mignolet’s position in the first team last month, will remain between the sticks for Wednesday’s Champions League showdown with Porto.

Rpoerts have suggested Mignolet, who has started just two games in 2018, is set to be sold in the summer but Klopp refused to give a prediction on Tuesday night.

‘Nobody knows about the future, or I don’t know about the future,’ the German responded when asked if his change of policy was the beggining of the end for the keeper’s Anfield career.

‘In this business it is always the same – it says nothing about that.

‘It’s not for me to think about these kind of things. I have to make a decision for tomorrow night and that’s all. No problem.’
