She may be focused on winning a gold medal, but US skier Lindsey Vonn, 33, has also found time to make an appeal for love on Valentine’s Day.
The athlete, who is arguably the greatest ski racer of all time took to Twitter earlier today to say she’d forgotten about Valentine’s Day in Pyeongchang, but is eager to make the most of it.
‘Anyone else out there single and want to be my Valentine? #worthashot,’ the ex girlfriend of Tiger Woods wrote.
Unsurprisingly, the ‘ski queen’ who won downhill gold at Vancouver 2010, was flooded with offers from eager admirers who tried to tempt her with their mutual interest in skiing and one man who boasted of his physio skills.
‘I’ve got feet on the ground in Pyeongchang to hand deliver your valentine in the form of kinesiotape and PRP to heal your ailments,’ he said.
Lindsey may well have been inspired by US tennis ace Eugenie Bouchard who agreed to a date on Twitter with student John Goehrke, 20, in February 2017.

The athlete joked that she’d been taking love advice from top male Norwegian skiers Aksel Lund Svindal and Kjetil Jansrud

She vowed to date him if the Atlanta Falcons triumphed over the New England Patriots in the Superbowl, and lost the bet.
And in December 2017 she surprised fans by posting a snap of them together on Instagram, saying John had come to visit her for a second date.
It appears love has been on Lindsey’s mind since the start of the competition as she revealed earlier this week that she turns to top male Norwegian skiers Aksel Lund Svindal and Kjetil Jansrud for dating advice.
‘Hopefully they can find me a guy now,’ she said soon after arriving at the Games, before quickly adding: ‘Just kidding. But maybe…’
Unsurprisingly the star athlete was inundated with offers, including one from a man who tried to impress her with his physio kit
And she’s by no means the only athlete looking to combine Olympic success with romance, as Tinder has confirmed a massive surge in use in the Pyeongchang area.
The matchmaker, launched in 2012, says it has made its usually paid-for Tinder Gold upgrade free to athletes and users in the Olympic Village for the duration of the Games.
And it cites data saying that Americans are the top users of its ‘Passport’ feature, which allows them to match with people in the Olympic athletes’ village, even if they themselves are back in the US.
