Teenager smashes through frozen trampoline

This is the very cool moment a youngster crashes through a sheet of ice that had formed on top of his trampoline.

Slow-motion footage shows the 14-year-old, in a black hoody and navy jeans, preparing to launch himself into the air and down on to the frozen surface below.

After landing in the middle of the trampoline, a ripple effect can be seen as the ice shatters into thousands of fragments from the epicenter outwards.

Friends Dylan and Brody came across the frozen trampoline and decided the best way to break the ice was to jump right through it.

Filmed in Ozark, Missouri, Dylan was recorded smashing the ice sheet in one swift movement while Brody captured the footage on camera.

After jumping, the teenager looks back up to the camera beaming ear to ear, clearly delighted with how the impromptu diving turned out.

‘I couldn’t see the whole thing,’ said Dylan, an eighth-grader told WFMY. ‘After I jumped, I felt the ice break and cover me. It was pretty cool.’

Social media users were quick to comment on the video, with one calling it ‘amazing’ and another posting: ‘cool video!’.

The video follows a dramatic clip from Russia in January that captured the moment ice ‘waves’ crash onto the shore of a frozen lake.

At first glance, it looked like a regular wave was breaking on the frozen Lake Baikal in Siberia – not far from the border with Mongolia.

But in fact the ‘wave’ was an example of a rare phenomenon, known as ‘ice stacking’.

Unfortunately, neither Dylan or Brody were on hand to shatter the ice waves but the footage attracted thousands of social media users who commented on the phenomenon nonetheless.
