British ISIS jihadis dubbed The Beatles wore burkas

The two final members of ISIS British beheading gang known as ‘The Beatles’ dressed up as women in a desperate attempt to flee Syria, it emerged last night.

Alexanda Kotey, 34, and El Shafee Elsheikh, 29, wore burkas to try and hide their beards before they planned to leave the deadly war zone.

But their plan was foiled when Kurdish forces spotted it was them and the pair were captured last month.

It comes as Britain rejected US attempts to have captured Islamic State fighters tried in their home countries and to take responsibility for their own citizens.

Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said that the so-called Beatles are the ‘worst of the worst’ and should ‘never set foot in this country again’.

And details of the duo’s failed escape emerged on Tuesday evening with the pair attempting to enter Turkey with thousands of refugees.

A source told The Sun: ‘With IS crumbling, these sick cowards were willing to do anything to avoid capture – even dressing up as women to slip across the border.

‘But there is no hiding place for them – and one-by-one they will all be tracked down and will face justice.’

Meanwhile, Turkish sources added the pair were helping CIA agents find victims of fellow ‘Beatle’ Mohammed Emwazi, commonly known as ‘Jihadi John’.

Dragana Haines, the widow of David Haines who was beheaded by Emwazi in 2014 begged for some alone time with the two recently captured Brits.

Speaking from her home in her native Croatia, she told The Times: ‘Bring those dogs to me.

‘Or take me to where they are and grant me six hours alone with each of them. I promise they’d be alive after I’m done. Not sure they’d want to be, though.’

They are reported to have been stripped of their British citizenship and are believed to be undergoing interrogation by US and British intelligence agents.

But a diplomatic row has broken out after America stated it wanted to offload the pair and Britain is refusing to extradite them.

Kurdish SDF commanders who are believed to be holding the pair said no extradition request had been received from authorities in the UK.

A spokesman said: ‘Judging by the words of the British Defence Secretary I don’t think the UK wants them back – he wants all these fighters in Syria dead.’

The US-backed SDF is holding hundreds of foreign fighters and US Pentagon official Kathryn Wheelbarger said Kurds are becoming overwhelmed with 40 new prisoners every day.
